ODM Party Announces 2027 Ambitions and Holds Rally in Kakamega - February 2026

Oburu Oginga has told residents of Siaya that ODM aims to secure significant political power by 2027 and is seeking the Deputy President position in upcoming elections following discussions with the United Democratic Alliance. Busia County Woman MP Catharine Omonyo has announced she will contest for a position within ODM at the National Delegates Conference. A faction of ODM called 'Linda Mwananchi', led by Senator Edwin Sifuna and Siaya Governor James Orengo, held a rally in Kakamega County to criticize President Ruto's administration. The rally at Amalemba Grounds was disrupted by teargas but Sifuna defiantly declared the meeting would continue.
