EACC is pushing to amend Articles 99(3) and 193(3) of the Constitution.
Key figure Abdi Mohamud, EACC Executive Officer, presented the proposals to the National Assembly’s Constitutional Implementation Oversight Committee on March 5.
The proposed changes aim to shift the burden of proof to convicted individuals to overturn their convictions on appeal, rather than allowing them to seek office while cases are unresolved.
