Sections of Nairobi’s Karura Forest have been temporarily closed by the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) due to rivers overflowing their banks from ongoing heavy rainfall.

• Vital routes to picnic sites, caves, waterfalls, and bridges are inaccessible.
• The closure by KFS is in effect until further notice, with the public urged to exercise caution.
• This occurs amidst widespread flooding across the country and a forecast for continued rainfall by the Kenya Meteorological Department.
