The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) is set to open its portal by mid-March for the 2026/2027 intake, with universities planning to admit first-year students in August.

Approximately 270,000 candidates who sat the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination qualified for direct university entry.
KUCCPS CEO Agnes Mercy Wahome met with vice-chancellors to discuss the upcoming admission cycle, including revised entry requirements.
Universities are also strengthening student safety measures and advocating for timely release of capitation and scholarship funds.
