The Port of Mombasa has launched a new trade route directly connecting East Africa to India, aiming to boost cargo movement and economic ties.

• The route is operated by Akkon Line under its East Africa Service (EAS) and will run on a bi-weekly schedule.
• The inaugural voyage was recognized in a ceremony attended by Captain William Rutto, who highlighted the port's commitment to world-class services.
