The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is seeking approval from Parliament for an additional Sh887.95 million to cover the exit package of its former chief executive and fund various operational needs, including by-elections.

• The IEBC's former chief executive, Marjan Hussein Marjan, is reportedly set to receive an exit package, the cost of which has now been publicly disclosed by the commission.
• The requested funds will also support by-elections for eight elective positions and upcoming county assembly ward seats.
• Acting Commission Secretary and Chief Executive Moses Sunkuli presented the supplementary budget request to the National Assembly's Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs (JLAC).
