A Kenyan man, Charles Mwangi, has been arrested and arraigned for allegedly supplying live garden ants to foreign nationals.

• 1,000 unpackaged live ants, 113 modified syringes containing ants, and 503 empty syringes were recovered from his home.
• The accused, Charles Mwangi, is suspected of supplying ants to a Chinese national on March 5, 2026, as seen on CCTV.
• Mwangi is also linked to a consignment seized in Bangkok and has previous connections to similar illicit dealings.
