- The Kenyan government is investing Ksh.9.5 billion to harness the region's blue economy, including infrastructure development and job creation for over 10,000 young people.
- Key infrastructure projects include the construction of the KSh1 billion Usenge Pier, piers in Homa Bay and Migori, a Ksh.250 million fishermen's rescue centre, and 10 landing sites along Lake Victoria.
