Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has officially declared parts of Laikipia, Meru, and Isiolo counties as security-disturbed and dangerous, effective March 26, 6pm for 30 days.

This declaration allows security agencies to conduct a major operation to dismantle criminal elements and bandits in the affected regions.
The affected areas span specific sub-counties and regions within Laikipia North, Tigania East, Igembe North, and Isiolo North.
The operation, which also includes a mop-up of illegal firearms, follows the recent deployment of 400 additional police officers and involves the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and National Intelligence Service (NIS).
