Pope Francis has appointed Rev. Fr. Obed Muriungi Karobia as an Auxiliary Bishop for the Catholic Archdiocese of Nairobi. The announcement was made on March 26 by Archbishop Bert van Megen, the Apostolic Nuncio to Kenya.

• Bishop-elect Karobia, born in 1979, is a member of the Franciscan Order and was ordained a priest in 2012.
