Western Kenya's crucial Neglected Tropical Disease (NTD) programmes face an uncertain future due to the planned withdrawal of UK and US donor funding by the end of next year.

• Over the past four years, four counties (Trans Nzoia, Kakamega, Vihiga, and Bungoma) received approximately Ksh1 billion to combat prevalent NTDs.
• The End Fund is leading the transition from donor-dependent interventions to sustainable integration within primary healthcare systems.
• Significant progress has been made, with intestinal worm prevalence dropping from 8% to 5% and bilharzia cases from 5% to 1%, but a risk of resurgence exists without local funding.
