The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arrested a revenue officer from the Kilifi County Government on allegations of bribery and abuse of office.

• The officer allegedly demanded Ksh 435,000 to facilitate a construction approval.
• The suspect, identified as Sylvia Dhahabu Karisa, an inspecor at the Approvals section in Watamu Municipality, was arrested at the municipal offices on March 26, 2026.
• Preliminary investigations confirmed a bribe demand of Ksh 400,000, and she was released on Ksh 20,000 cash bail pending further investigation.
