The Makueni County Government and the non-profit organization CLASP have signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote clean cooking solutions in public institutions.

• The initiative targets over 4,500 people in 63 vocational training centres.
• Key figures involved include Nyamolo Abagi, Director of Clean Energy Access at CLASP, and Mutula Kilonzo Jr., Governor of Makueni.
• This partnership aims to transition institutions away from polluting fuels like firewood and charcoal to modern, energy-efficient cooking technologies under the Modern Energy Cooking Services Programme (MECS).
