The Ministry of Lands has announced a 12-month waiver on interest and penalties for outstanding loans issued under Kenya’s Land Settlement Fund.

• Beneficiaries can now clear only the principal loan amounts without additional charges during the moratorium period from February 13, 2026 to February 14, 2027.
• The waiver was announced by Lands Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome.
• This initiative aims to assist settlers and individual plot owners in resolving their land ownership and development, with 520 settlement schemes currently active across 26 counties.
