Following the resignation of Daniel Kiptoo Bargoria amid allegations of procuring substandard fuel, the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has appointed Eng Joseph Oketch as its Acting Director-General.

• Eng Joseph Oketch, previously head of the Electricity and Renewable Energy Directorate, will lead EPRA.
• The appointment comes after the resignations of Daniel Kiptoo Bargoria (EPRA Director General), Petroleum Principal Secretary Mohamed Liban, and Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) Managing Director Joe Sang.
• These resignations occurred after the officials' arrest on Thursday over alleged "egregious misrepresentation" in the petroleum supply chain.
