Homa Bay County is promoting small-scale aquaculture to combat rising agricultural input costs and enhance food security, offering a vital alternative to struggling crop farmers.

2.5 million fingerlings are being distributed to farmers in Homa Bay County this month.
The initiative is supported by aquaculture company Victory Farms and the Homa Bay County Fisheries Department.
The program aims to revive pond-based fish farming, with expectations of increasing production from 39 tonnes last year to at least 100 tonnes this year.
