The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) is calling for judges facing serious corruption allegations to step aside voluntarily or face increased scrutiny, signaling a new era of judicial accountability.

5.5 per cent of judicial interactions involved bribes, according to the 2025 National Gender and Corruption Survey.
The LSK council, in its inaugural statement, outlined a four-point action plan to address judicial misconduct.
The LSK also condemned the use of transfers for incompetence or corruption and urged the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to ensure merit-based judicial appointments.
