The newly elected Law Society of Kenya (LSK) Council has officially taken office, vowing to defend the rule of law amidst what they describe as "acute constitutional stress" in the country.

LSK President Charles Kanjama highlighted that 5.5 per cent of judicial officers reportedly received bribes according to a 2025 Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) survey.
The Council, representing over 20,000 advocates, will prioritize safeguarding justice, integrity, and democratic governance during their 2026–2028 term.
They called for voluntary stepping aside of judges facing serious corruption allegations and emphasized the need for transparency in judicial appointments and postings.
