Authorities have deployed a high-powered security team to Tseikuru, Kitui county, following deadly inter-community attacks that resulted in the deaths of seven people.

• Seven people, including one woman and six men, were killed in fresh attacks.
• The National Police Service (NPS) dispatched a team led by Deputy Inspector General Eliud Lagat, on the orders of Inspector General Douglas Kanja.
• The incident, which occurred on Saturday evening, involved pastoralists from the Somali community attacking members of the Kamba community, also resulting in houses being set ablaze.
