The Kenyan government is seeking to acquire land in Gigiri, Nairobi, to construct a new multi-storey office block that will house United Nations agencies.

• The planned facility will accommodate the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat).
• Expressions of interest from landowners and developers were invited on April 28th by the State Department for Foreign Affairs.
• The land, ideally between 1 and 1.5 acres and within a 3-kilometre radius of the UN complex, is needed because current rented premises lack adequate space and amenities.
