Parts of Nairobi are experiencing a temporary water shortage following a major pipeline burst in the Gigiri area. The disruption is affecting several key residential and commercial districts.

• Affected areas include Westlands, Lavington, Kilimani, Kileleshwa, Upper Hill, Ngong Road, Madaraka, Nairobi West, Uthiru, Karen, Kibera and Lang’ata.
• The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) announced the disruption, with repairs currently underway.
• Water supply is expected to resume by 6 am on Saturday, May 2, 2026.
