Heavy rains have triggered landslides and floods in Murang’a County, resulting in at least one death and the displacement of hundreds of families.

• Over 200 households have been displaced in Gitugi Ward alone, with more affected in Kiru Ward and Kamacharia Ward.
• The landslides have destroyed property including houses, land, and domestic animals, and even flattened the Kamagogo Full Gospel Church.
• The government is appealing for vigilance from the public and urging them to report any signs of soil instability to local administrators and disaster management teams.
