Kenyan environmental activist Truphena Muthoni has provisionally broken the Guinness World Record for the most trees hugged in one hour, after embracing 1,234 trees in Brazil. This feat was achieved during a climate awareness campaign at the Jardim Botânico Brasília on Friday, May 8.

• Muthoni hugged an impressive 1,234 trees in one hour, surpassing the previous record of 1,123.
• The record attempt was made by Kenyan activist Truphena Muthoni.
• The Kenyan Embassy in Brazil confirmed the accomplishment as part of Muthoni’s environmental awareness tour in the South American country.
