ODM leader Oburu Oginga hosted a meeting with Kakamega MPs and Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya to resolve internal party disputes and counter political maneuvers.

• Wycliffe Oparanya was convinced to abandon plans of forming a new political party and to remain within ODM.
• Oburu Oginga also worked to prevent the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) from luring Kakamega MPs into switching allegiance ahead of the 2027 polls.
• The meeting aimed to reconcile Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya and Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa, whose relationship had soured.
