The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has launched a nationwide ICT training program for Junior Secondary School teachers to boost digital learning. The training, part of the Kenya Digital Economy Acceleration Project (KDEAP), runs from June 12 to June 26 in all 47 counties.
- The initiative aims to enhance teaching and learning through technology, focusing on digital platforms like Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, and Moodle.
- Master Trainers will use a "smart cascade" model to train Teachers of Teachers (ToTs), who will then train JSS teachers at the county level.
- This training precedes the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) plan to introduce digital assessments in senior schools starting in 2027.
