The World Health Organization (WHO) has strengthened the Ebola outbreak response in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) by handing over a newly refurbished Ebola Treatment Centre in Bunia.

The treatment centre initially has a capacity of 24 beds and can be expanded to 60 beds, with an additional annex of 42 beds planned.
Key organizations involved include the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Government of the DRC.
As of 31 May, there were 210 confirmed cases and 17 confirmed deaths, with 16 health workers infected during this outbreak.
