The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has secured a temporary win as the Employment and Labour Relations Court in Machakos halted the reinstatement of a teacher, Mr Kennedy Odhiambo Akongo, pending the TSC's appeal.

• The reinstatement was based on a ruling that found Mr Akongo's dismissal unfair, ordering his reinstatement and compensation equivalent to 12 months' salary.
• The dispute centres on allegations of examination malpractice during the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations at Ngungi Secondary School.
• Mr Akongo, an examination centre supervisor, was dismissed after being linked to a leaked Kiswahili Paper 2.
