The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has extended the deadline for Senior Schools to register as Competency Based Assessment (CBA) centres to June 15.
- The extended deadline is to ensure all eligible Senior Schools complete the mandatory registration for the upcoming rollout of Grade 10 learner registration under the Competency Based Education (CBE) system.
- The initial registration window was from May 7 to May 22 but did not capture all institutions.
- Registered centres will be authorized to administer assessments, conduct grading, and upload student results to the KNEC portal.
- Following centre registration, KNEC will open a portal for the registration of Grade 10 learners, who will use unique Assessment Numbers issued at Grade 3 as permanent identifiers.
