The Ministry of Education has made it mandatory for all Kenyan schools to register on the Kenya Education Management Information System (KEMIS). Failure to comply means schools will not receive government capitation for the third term.

All public and private learning institutions, including primary, secondary, TVETs, and universities, must be registered on KEMIS.
The directive was issued by Education Principal Secretary Julius Bitok.
Capitation payments for the third term will exclusively be processed through the KEMIS platform to streamline the funding process and fill existing gaps.
