The Kenyan Ministry of Roads and Transport has announced a revised completion date of 2030 for the 740-kilometre Isiolo-Mandera Highway, a delay from the previously anticipated January 31, 2028.

• The Ksh168 billion project is a key component of the Horn of Africa Gateway Development Project.
• Key organizations involved include the World Bank, the African Development Bank, and other development partners, with the World Bank recently approving an additional Ksh37 billion.
• Beyond the road infrastructure, the project will also include the installation of 1000 kilometres of fibre optic cable to enhance digital connectivity in the region.
