The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has extended the deadline for transporters to obtain exemption permits by 10 days due to a surge in applications following the restoration of its online system.

• Trucks operating under expired permits are allowed to continue transporting cargo covered under their original permits until June 19, 2026.
• The decision comes from KeNHA Director General Luka Kimeli.
• This extension aims to ease delays and clear a backlog of requests for essential documents required for moving abnormal or oversized loads.
