Kenya has spent nearly Sh1.8 billion on acquiring and refurbishing properties for its diplomatic missions abroad during the first nine months of the 2025/26 financial year.

• Kenya spent Sh1.78 billion on property upgrades for its diplomatic missions.
• The State Department for Foreign Affairs, overseen by the Controller of Budget, managed the expenditure.
• Significant investments were made in London (Sh550 million for a chancery) and New York (Sh550 million for an ambassador's residence), which accounted for over 60% of the spending.
