The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has outlined measures to combat election-related violence and intimidation by unauthorized individuals, referred to as "goons," during the upcoming general elections.

• IEBC will restrict individuals not registered as official agents of candidates from entering tallying centers and will enforce a 400-meter exclusion zone around them.
• Commissioner Moses Alutalala, representing the IEBC, stated that political leaders are responsible for funding these "goons" and urged them to cease financial support to curb the problem.
• The commission is mapping hotspot areas with a high prevalence of goonism and intends to enforce the electoral code of conduct without bias.
