Three foreign nationals were arrested and charged in Nairobi for allegedly possessing raw emeralds valued at approximately Sh19 million without the necessary licenses.

• The suspects, identified as nationals of the United States, Colombia, and Mexico, were found with 74 grams of raw emerald.
• The arrests were made by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), specifically the Anti-Illegal Mining and Smuggling Investigations (AIMSI) unit.
• The trio pleaded not guilty to charges of dealing in minerals without a license and unauthorized possession, and were released on bail.
