A Singapore court has ordered Bloomberg and one of its reporters to pay S$460,000 ($356,000) to two ministers in a defamation case over an article on property transactions.

• The ministers, K Shanmugam and Tan See Leng, sued Bloomberg and reporter Low De Wei for a 2024 article titled “Singapore Mansion Deals Are Increasingly Shrouded in Secrecy.”
• The article detailed how wealthy buyers obscure purchases of Good Class Bungalows, using examples of the ministers' property deals.
• The judge found the article implied wrongdoing by the ministers, referencing secrecy and money laundering, while Bloomberg stated the reporting was accurate and expressed disappointment with the ruling.
