The High Court has ordered the freezing of over Ksh105 million held by two Kenyans in cryptocurrency and local bank accounts, in an assets recovery case involving suspected proceeds of crime.

• Ksh97.3 million in cryptocurrency (Binance) and approximately Ksh7.8 million in local bank accounts have been frozen.
• The Assets Recovery Agency (ARA) applied for and secured the preservation orders.
• The court prohibited any transactions involving the cryptocurrency wallets and bank accounts until further notice, citing the Proceeds of Crime and Anti-Money Laundering Act (POCAMLA).
