Police in Machakos County are investigating a murder after a herder discovered a partially decomposed human body in a shallow grave near the Mukengesya River in Kithyoko. The discovery was made on Friday.

• The remains are believed to be of a middle-aged African male adult.
• Law enforcement agencies involved include the Kenya Police Service and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
• The grim discovery was initiated when dogs were found digging at a partially exposed human arm protruding from the grave.
