The United Kingdom has relocated a military training exercise from Kenya to Tanzania due to the Kenyan government's failure to renew licenses for the British Army Training Unit (BATUK).

• The exercise, 'Exercise Haraka Storm', was scheduled in Laikipia between September and November.
• This move is expected to significantly impact local businesses in Nanyuki and surrounding towns, which benefit from an estimated £58 million (approx. Sh10 billion) injected annually by British military activities.
• The relocation follows months of tension and parliamentary inquiries into allegations of sexual violence, negligent handling of explosives, and unresolved civilian property damage disputes involving BATUK.
