Samsung has enhanced the security of its Galaxy phones with One UI 9, making them significantly more resistant to brute-force PIN attacks.

• Successful 13 incorrect unlock attempts will permanently lock a device, requiring a factory reset.
• This new security policy was introduced with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8.
• One UI 9 now features a countdown timer to clearly display lockout durations and treats consecutive identical incorrect PIN entries as a single failed attempt to prevent accidental lockouts.
