Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi is reportedly being targeted for removal as the chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), in what is seen as a continuation of a purge against perceived rebels within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.

• A petition has been filed with the Senate Speaker Amason Kingi to remove Mr. Osotsi from his leadership position.
• The move is allegedly orchestrated by allies of Dr. Oburu Oginga within the ODM party and supported by President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
• Mr. Osotsi claims this is a political witch-hunt, similar to his recent ouster as ODM deputy party leader, and is tied to ideological battles within the party regarding cooperation with President Ruto's administration.
