Three Mt. Kenya political party leaders have publicly rejected calls by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to dissolve their parties and join the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP).

• The leaders, including Peter Munya (PNU), Justin Muturi (Democratic Party), and Lenny Kivuti (MBUS), asserted that political parties are independent institutions.
• They stated that no single individual has the authority to dictate the dissolution or future of other parties.
• The leaders emphasized that any political cooperation must be based on mutual respect and consultation, not coercion, and dismissed suggestions that Gachagua speaks for the entire Mt. Kenya region.
