A 19-year-old boda boda rider, Erick Otieno, died from severe internal injuries after allegedly being beaten while in police custody at Muthaiga Police Station. The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) is now investigating the death, which occurred after the victim was arrested on Sunday, August 2. New CCTV footage has also revealed events leading up to a separate fatal stabbing of Kennedy Ngeno in an apparent road rage incident on Mombasa Road near Nyayo Stadium in the early hours of Saturday, August 1. A suspect has been arrested in connection with that stabbing, and an autopsy confirmed the victim died from multiple stab wounds.
