The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has appointed Ruth Kulundu as its Acting Chief Executive Officer and Commission Secretary. This appointment follows the conclusion of Moses Ledama Sunkuli's six-month tenure in the role.

• Ruth Kulundu, currently the Deputy Commission Secretary in charge of Operations, will serve for two months or until a substantive replacement is found.
• The IEBC is in the final stages of recruiting a permanent CEO, with applications closing on August 11.
• This transition is part of the IEBC's efforts to strengthen its leadership ahead of the 2027 General Election.
