An advocate has been arrested and charged in court for allegedly defrauding two gold dealers of approximately Sh61.8 million through a scam three years ago.

• The accused, Alphonce Collins Odoyo Osewe, allegedly received Sh61,837,296 between May 1 and 9, 2023.
• He was charged alongside Patroba Odhiambo Tobias and had a warrant of arrest pending for nearly a year.
• The prosecution opposed his release on bond, citing his failure to appear in court for a year, while the accused claimed illness and overseas treatment.
