Harrison Keter has been elected the new President of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK), succeeding Shammah Kiteme.

• The election saw the IEK's highest ever turnout, conducted electronically for the first time.
• Harrison Keter, an engineer with over 20 years of experience in the energy sector, pledged to unite the profession and prioritize education and mentorship.
• He also called on policymakers to ensure local engineers benefit from major infrastructure projects and to reduce reliance on foreign expertise.
