Indigenous women from 27 ASAL Counties are urging the Kenyan government to officially recognize and equip traditional birth attendants, a call made following a three-day conference in Isiolo.

• The women advocate for the recognition of traditional birth attendants to reduce maternal mortality, especially in remote pastoralist areas.
