The Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) has stated that five Kenyan alcoholic brands suspended in Rwanda on August 5, 2026, meet safety and quality standards.

• KEBS conducted fresh inspections and laboratory tests confirming compliance with Kenyan and East African standards.
• The affected brands include Kenya King Gin, Safari Gin, Avalon, Sweet Berry Potable Spirits, and Gilbey’s Gin.
• KEBS is actively engaging the Rwanda Food and Drugs Authority (Rwanda FDA) to resolve the suspension.
