The National Liberal Party (NLP) has announced its readiness to align with either the Government or the Opposition in the lead-up to the 2027 General Election, asserting its independence and commitment to safeguarding the interests of the Ukambani region.

• NLP leader Augustus Muli stated the party will negotiate from a position of strength and is willing to contest the elections independently if their demands are not met.
• The declaration was made at a rally at Kitui Stadium, which drew over 5,000 supporters.
• Muli also expressed concern over the perceived mistreatment of Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka within political circles, questioning his own potential reception in opposition alliances.
