Tension is high in Homa Bay after roads leading into the town were blocked with large stones ahead of a planned Linda Mwananchi political rally.

• Roads were reportedly barricaded overnight, making some routes inaccessible.
• Key figures include Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna of the Linda Mwananchi movement and Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo.
• The disruption occurred despite government assurances of adequate security and the constitutional right to assemble.
