The Pest Control Products Board (PCPB) has issued a stern warning to agrovet dealers across Kenya against selling unregistered, counterfeit, or banned pesticides, threatening arrest and prosecution for non-compliance.

• PCPB is prosecuting 51 cases involving illegal pesticides, with four convictions in the last financial year resulting in fines from Ksh100,000 to Ksh750,000.
• Lawrence Kalawa, General Manager for Compliance and Enforcement at PCPB, urges dealers to verify all products against the Board’s official register.
• Investigations into the deaths of 15 elephants in Amboseli, linked to cyanide poisoning, highlight the dangers of unregulated pesticides to wildlife, consumers, and the environment.
